Jan is a proven nursing home administrator and CCRC executive director. Jan is a thought leader, and diplomat; recognized for excellence and as an effective influencer. Jan’s early experiences influenced her to serve those in their elder years. As an elementary child, she and her best friend would walk to St. Clair Manor twice a week and feed the residents who couldn’t feed themselves. The Franciscan Sisters at St. Clair Manor would welcome our assistance and reward us with a goody from the kitchen, as well as a bottle of soda! This was a precursor to Jan’s later career.
After college, Jan became the Regional Director of Human Resources for Mariner Healthcare and had responsibility for 17 nursing homes. Jan’s passion for serving the nursing home population blossomed under Mariner Healthcare. Jan’s devotion for high quality senior care was unstoppable. Jan obtained her Texas Nursing Home Administrator license in 2004 and has worked as a Nursing Home Administrator or interim Executive Director as a problem solver and compliance guru.
Over her executive career of in excess of 25 years, she has been a change agent in establishing and implementing best practices in nursing home operations. She was one of the first administrators in North Texas to pioneer, design and implement innovative, person-centered living for the highest quality of care and quality of life. Her experience spans all disciplines of long term care operations and human resources serving as Vice President of Human Resources for Voyager Hospice and Home Health, Director of Human Resources for The Federation of Medical Boards, and various long term care organizations.
Jan owns Piveral Consulting, where she audits, analyzes, develops, and implements strategic resolutions for long term healthcare operations, culture, and human resources processes at the corporate and facility level. She teaches Human Resources Management and Managing Organizational Behavior courses at University of Texas at Arlington. Her degrees and certifications include a Master of Science in Human Resources from The University of Texas at Arlington, a BBA in Management from The University of Texas at Arlington and many certifications and hours of continuous learning. She has earned a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and from HRCI, and the most current certification, SHRM-SCP, a Senior Certified Professional.
In addition, Mrs. Piveral received her Master Trainer certification, State Mediator certification, Individual and Group Competency certification, and her license as a nursing facility administrator.
